Who am I?

My work evolves constantly – I won’t be constrained to any one medium or technique. The work may seem disparate but there is a consistency in my emotional response to the subjects which inform the work – memories, people, places and current affairs which have touched my life in good and bad ways! In the past I worked primarily with clay but increasingly drawing and painting has taken precedence. Watercolour is a medium which fascinates me, I suppose historically it was seen as a feminine medium, usually used very watered down and translucent on a small scale. My watercolours are dense, usually dark with layer upon layer of pigment worked into the paper which is normally over 70cms large using huge brushes which can make a very difficult medium sometimes impossible to control but leaves the finished piece very much a product of chance!
